The Beginning

Each generation is tasked with the responsibility of solving the conundrum of its time. Ours is no doubt a herculean one because it seems to house both its issues and those of the eras past. How do we tackle all these problems?  Isn't it funny that we haven't pointed out these problems that betide our generation? Indeed, but we crave your patience to take a little more hike with us without unraveling same(problems) until our next paragraph. This blog for one seeks to use literature (literary works)  and their analysis to X-ray these problems and proffer viable solutions. Notwithstanding,  it will, in the course of time pay homage to news items on the media around the world with the sole aim of fishing out their literariness and their logical appeals to the intellect of the audiences. This is because we believe in the power of these two: literature and media in either freeing or caging the human mind.  Interestingly, this will not be done devoid of giving the language(s) used some critical look. However, we crave your indulgence in future should in our quest to explore these issues we digress by means of copious allusions and metaphors. Moreover, no comment is too much or too little provided it remains civil and within the scope of each discourse and all should be reasonable too.

Sadly enough, the problems of our generation appear visible yet elusive to our grasp due to many factors that engender them. Would  it be fair to pick out some and be comfortable with such a lopsided conjecture?  Of course the answer is 'no'.  It's for this reason that this blog promises to adopt a point of view as well as welcome the Socratic method in order to appreciate the contribution of every participant. Thus, amongst the problems of this generation are : lack of character, extremism, lack of reasoning, tribalism, and such other problems that deplete the strength of the spirit of man. Would you join us in this tasky yet profitable journey for the sake of our generation?  I know you may be wandering who the "us" are;  they are no other people than you all whose consciences are still active, you whose consciences refused to get congealed by the waves of collective societal docility, and you who still believe and are optimistic that if we act our part by God's grace we'll have a good share of our lives to live well and not to shift our generational problems to the weariness of the next generation.  Thank you all and welcome on board...
